631 Beaulieu Vineyard BV Reserve Tapestry, Napa Valley 2015 This full velvety wine is blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot aged in a mix of French, Amer- ican and Hungarian oak (60% new). It has a deep garnet-purple color and a toasty nose to begin, giving way to a beautiful perfume of roses and lilacs with a core of cassis, red currant jelly and blackberry tart. This seductive wine deliv- ers layers of perfumed red and black fruit with a very long finish. Robert Parker - 92 points Donors: Sanaz and Shahriar Sheybani Value: $55 632 Tensley Syrah, Santa Barbara County 2017 This deep ruby wine is made with 20% whole cluster and no new oak and has a nose of white pepper, green peppercorn, cedar shavings, grilled beef, lico- rice and chocolate with warm black cherry compote, prosciutto, fried herbs and red cherry sparks. It's full-bodied in the mouth with firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness to lift the long finish. Wine Spectator - 93 points Donors: Michael and Kara Steuerwald Value: $22 633 Malibu Rocky Oaks Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 The nose on this bottling, which includes 8% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, is extremely potpourri-like with dried purple-flower aromas mixing with purple fruit. The strong violet kick plays into the palate as well. Donors: Vikas Sachar and Sutha Sachar, MD Value: $30 Wine and Spirits Auction Main Event 2020
