Every child deserves an education that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and opens doors. That belief inspired a group of parents to create Peninsula Education Foundation in 1979 – determined to protect essential programs like music, PE, and classroom teaching when state funding fell short. Today, that mission is more important than ever. Even in a top-ranked district, our schools still depend on community support to give students the full education they deserve. When you give to PEF, you are not just funding programs and staff, but you are also opening doors for every student to learn, grow, and dream big. WHY WE GIVE The Palos Verdes Peninsula is home to some of Califor- nia's top-performing public schools – thanks in large part to strong community support. Yet our school district receives significantly less state funding per student com- pared to many other high-achieving districts. For decades, California's education funding system has struggled to meet the full needs of students. Changes in the way schools are funded have created a persistent gap between what the state provides and what it takes to deliver the kind of well-rounded, high-quality education our students deserve. That is where our community makes the difference. With ongoing support from families like yours, we can bridge that gap and continue to invest in the programs, staff, and opportunities that help all PVPUSD students thrive. Additional funding is provided for students who are low-income, English learners, or in foster care. As a result, per-student funding differs across districts. PV- PUSD receives less than many comparable districts, which is why your support through PEF makes such a powerful differ- ence for our students. 3,607
