Driven by Curiosity: Anish Anand's Passion for Science Anish's journey in science research has been nothing short of remarkable. Most recently, he secured 1st place in the PVP High School Science & Engineering Fair for his groundbreaking project on long-range wireless power transmission. His work focuses on developing a system to wirelessly recharge medical implants, such as pacemakers, eliminating the need for invasive surgeries. His cutting-edge research has earned him 1st place in Engineering Application at the 2025 LA County Science and Engineering Fair, and this May, he will showcase his project at the 2025 Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF)— the world's most prestigious science competition for high school students. "I want to use science and engineering to solve real problems," said Anish. "Developing a way to wirelessly recharge medical implants could not only improve patients' lives but also help reduce the risk of complications from surgery." This is not Anish's first time competing at the international level. As a sophomore, he qualified for the 2024 Regeneron ISEF, where he received 1st place/Qorvo Innovator Award and 2nd place/NASA Space Award, earning recognition for his thoughtful and innovative work.
