Strong public schools anchor our community. The Palos Verdes Peninsula holds a tradition of
educational excellence and valuing its schools. Because of our engaged parents and community
members, we can continue to provide enriched opportunities and programs that we expect for
our children.
Today, all tax revenues go to Sacramento where they are distributed statewide according to a
needs-based formula. This funding formula leaves PVPUSD with a multi-million dollar funding gap
and fewer dollars per pupil than what is needed to provide the education we want for our children.
California ranks among the lowest in the nation in public school funding. In the 70s, funding
methods for education in California were turned upside down. Now, after all this time, our
public schools remain underfunded.
Your suppor t bridges the gap between
an adequate and excellent education!
