PVPUSD is towards the bottom in funding but is rated the #4 Best School District in the
Los Angeles area and in the Top 10 Best School Districts in California (Niche 2021) because
our community is committed to education.
Today, all tax revenues go to Sacramento where they are distributed statewide according to a
needs-based formula. is funding formula leaves PVPUSD with a multi million dollar funding
gap and fewer dollars per pupil than what is needed to provide the education we want for our
children.
California ranks among the lowest in the nation in public school funding. In the 70s, funding
methods for education in California were turned upside down. Now, aer all this time, our
public schools remain underfunded.
