Dear Friends, L a u r a H u g h e s P re s i d e n t , P E F B o a rd o f Tr u s t e e s Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! It sure isn't how we imagined our children beginning the school year, yet here we are navigating uncharted waters. Yes, it will be dif- ferent, but it won't last forever. Our district has been work- ing overtime to create a safe educational experience for our students, teachers and staff. The support and the work our community is doing reminds me that Palos Verdes is a special place. Together, we can achieve great things and overcome any obstacles. Our district continues to be one of the most underfunded in California. Now, more than ever, our schools need all of our support. Please join us in helping to fund areas in need and continue providing our students with an excellent educa- tion. As Dr. Cherniss says, "A good education is free, an ex- cellent education is not." Did you know that if every family contributed just $1 a day for each student in our district, we could fund more teachers, increase our program sup- port, expand our technology and more? Please join us this year and make this goal a reality. With much appreciation, Our PEF team of donors, trustees, volunteers and staff are focusing on finding creative ways to help fill financial gaps in our district. Until we are able to gather again, we are exploring new ways to fundraise, which will include exciting virtual events and socially distanced activities. Let's look for the opportunities to evolve and build upon the excellent educational foundation we have in our PVPUSD community. We are a community that is resilient, hopeful, innovative and adaptable and has more in common with one another in its quest to support the education and well being of our kids. We are PV Strong! #PVStrong 40 Years Suppor ting Students PENINSULA EDUCATION FOUNDATION 1979-2019
