668 The Best of Kistler's 2017 Chardonnays: McCrea Chardonnay and Stone Flat Vineyard Chardonnay 2017 Kistler Vineyards McCrea Chardonnay - Coming from marine sediments and volcanic soils on Sonoma Mountain, this impressive chardonnay offers a brilliant, white flower and orchard fruit-driven profile that slowly shows more brioche and honeysuckle with time in the glass. It's beautifully textured with good acidity and a great finish. Drink this complete, impeccably balanced chardonnay over the coming decade or more. Robert Parker - 95 points 2017 Kistler Vineyards Stone Flat Vineyard Chardonnay - This wine has an uber-inviting nose with scents of honeycomb, peach cobbler, toasted hazelnut, quince, guava and a classy framing of baking spice with underlying mineral notions. It's medium-bodied with intense, savory-laced ripe fruits knit by rocky notions and tangy acidity, finishing long and layered. Robert Parker - 95 points Donors: Tom and Lori O'Hern Value: $280 669 BLACKENED American Metallica Whiskey Master Distiller extraordinaire, Dave Pickerell, in collaboration with Metallica, has unveiled, BLACKENED a marriage of the finest bourbons, ryes and whis- keys. Predominately bourbon, the sweetness of BLACKENED pairs perfectly with the savory spice offered by the high rye composition. Once married, they make their way into black brandy casks for finishing. Inside those black brandy casks, the liquid is bathed in low hertz sound waves so intense that it actually intensifies the molecular interaction and ultimately the finish resulting in the most balanced delicious whiskey that's perfect for cocktails or on the rocks.
